Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on that part of the island of Montreal that is known as"the West Island. This West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is a vast area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time was not long in the city. Brugel lived in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. When she was a child she wanted to be a performer but an unexpected growth spurt made it impossible. She admitted in an article published by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. When I grew out of male companions and gave up, I decided to give up. Some former dancers switch to acting, and in Brugel's case it was a suggestion from a high school drama teacher that led her in the right direction. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to take on a part in the annual school production. The teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the annual school production. She was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on both the large and small screen. The most notable was her attention when she won her role as Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale the series filmed over ten years ago.
